June E. Nylen Cancer Center Earns COLA Accreditation

The June E. Nylen Cancer Center has been awarded a two-year term of laboratory accreditation certified by the Commission on Office Laboratory Association (COLA Inc.), a leading national laboratory accreditor, whose program and standards enable clinical laboratories and staff to meet U.S. Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA) and other regulatory requirements.

Accreditation is given to laboratories that apply the highest standards of quality in day to day operations, demonstrate continued accuracy in the performance of proficiency testing, and pass a rigorous on-site laboratory inspection.

COLA Inc. is the premier clinical laboratory accreditation, education, and consultation organization. COLA is an independent accreditor whose practical, educational standards have a positive and immediate impact on patient care. Their services enable clinical laboratories and staff to meet CLIA and other regulatory requirements, provide the best possible patient care, and act in accordance with quality systems.

“The trained professionals at the June E. Nylen Cancer Center perform more than 262,000 various lab tests each year to support the medical team in providing the best care to patients,” said Dan Socknat, laboratory manager. “I am very proud of the work that we do each day to provide quality service to patients that is demonstrated through this accreditation.”
