Our wig boutique offers you a selection of wigs and hats free of charge. Open weekdays from 8 am to 4:30 pm off our main entrance, the boutique offers a variety of styles including:

  • Bandannas

  • Hats for both summer and winter

  • Scarfs

  • Turbans

  • Wigs

We encourage you to bring your support person with you to help you choose the right style for you. Plus, you’re welcome to select other styles during the course of your chemotherapy treatment. We just ask that you return items after you’ve finished with them so they are available for other patients to use.

At this time, appointments are needed to see or try on the wigs in our Wig Boutique. Please call us to schedule or for more information.

JENCC is also a part of Strands of Strength. Established in 2011 by a cancer survivor, Strands of Strength (SOS) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose mission is to provide new wigs to patients with selection and styling support free of charge to cancer patients with hair loss due to treatment.

Louanne Zortman of Sioux City is a Strands of Strength partner salon and will help our June E. Nylen Cancer Center patients remove their thinning hair, select a wig with the appropriate fit and style, and show them how to care for their new hair.   Louanne owns “You’ve Got Nails & More” salon and has been a hairstylist for 41 years.  

To receive a free wig and styling through JENCC and Strands of Strength:

1.      You must be a patient at our Cancer Center to receive benefits from this program.  If interested, a member of the navigation team will be happy to assist you. 

2.      Once you receive a voucher, you can make an appointment with Louanne.  She will assist you in selecting a wig and styling it if the wig allows it.  The voucher will have the phone number to call to set up the appointment. 

3.      When your wig is ready, pay for it using your Strands of Strength voucher, which covers all costs.
