For 25 years the June E. Nylen Cancer Center has been leading the region in comprehensive cancer and hematology care. The years have been marked by collaboration, change, and growth.

Our physicians and staff feel it is a privilege to provide the highest quality, compassionate care through prevention, treatment, and research in Siouxland. Last year we cared for more than 6,000 patients who had more than 39,000 visits to our facility. Each day about 150 patients come to our center for hope and healing and we treat hundreds more at our convenient regional satellite clinics.

 Medical Accounts Receivable Specialist

Specialist follows up with payors on open insurance claims and balances. Resubmits primary and secondary claims. Reviews, identifies, and resolves root causes of payor denials. Accounts Receivable Specialist strives for timely resolution to avoid delays in reimbursement. Completes any other projects that are assigned that have a direct impact on the Billing Department revenue cycle.

Qualifications: High school diploma or GED required. Additional technical education preferred.  Minimum one year of experience required working accounts receivable in a medical practice/health field. Three years of experience preferred. Must have an understanding of CPT and ICD-10 coding and an understanding of EOBs. Attention to detail is a must! Accurate keyboarding skills required along with proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word. Must have the ability to understand and apply guidelines, policies, and procedures.


Medical Oncology RN

Under limited supervision of the Medical Oncology Nursing Manager and medical direction from the physician, RN provides professional patient care by assisting the physician with the assessment, examination and treatment of clinic patients following established standards and practices. Clinic hours - no night or weekend shifts.

Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing and must have a valid Registered Nurse license to work in Iowa. Must be CPR and Mandatory Reporter certified or be willing to become certified. Clinical experience in acute care setting or equivalent experience strongly preferred (additional experience in oncology beneficial).

Excellent interpersonal skills are a must.


CT Technologist - PRN

PRN position available - no set hours or guaranteed hours.  CT Tech utilizes independent judgment in performing diagnostic imaging procedures in the Radiology Department.  Performs radiological duties in compliance with x-ray department and legal requirements following all radiation safety guidelines. May also fill in for PET/CT.  

Must be a graduate of an accredited school of radiologic technology and be registered and certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).  Must be licensed by the state of Iowa as a General Radiographer.  X-ray Technologists willing to pursue CT certification are encouraged to apply.  CPR and Mandatory Reporter Certification is required.  Ability needed to make independent decisions using critical thinking, problem solving, and performing responsibilities under stressful situations.  Excellent communication skills are needed, both verbal and written, to communicate with patients, providers, and staff members. 


RN – Medical or Radiation Oncology, PRN

Opportunity for an RN who wants to work PRN.  Schedule would be four shifts per four-week schedule.  Oncology experience preferred; must have strong hospital experience.  RN provides professional patient care by assisting the physician with the assessment, examination, and treatment of clinic patients following established standards and practices.  Daytime clinic hours - no nights, weekends, or holidays.

Must have a current RN license to work in Iowa.  Will need to obtain and maintain CPR and Mandatory Reporter Certification.  Strong interpersonal skills are required.  


Nurse Practitioner

The ARNP performs patient physical assessments and recommends and orders treatment interventions within the ARNP scope of practice.  Advanced nursing practice will occur in the clinic at the Cancer Center and may occur in the hospital as directed by the Medical Director.  The ARNP is a member of the interdisciplinary team and participates in all aspects of service delivery.  The ARNP works in collaboration with the patient’s attending physician in care of their patient.

Position requires Master's degree in nursing with completion of Iowa board-approved advanced practice master’s program or completion of a formal advanced practice education program  (family, adult or geriatric); current NP certification by a national professional certifying body recognized by the Iowa, Nebraska and South Dakota Boards of Nursing; current ARNP license issued by the States of Iowa, Nebraska and South Dakota Boards of Nursing; and current prescriptive authority through the State of Iowa Board of Pharmacy, and current DEA registration required.  Must be registered as a practitioner with the Federal Drug Enforcement Administration.

Minimum of one year of recent oncology experience strongly preferred.

Must have strong clinical skills in physical assessment and care of the terminally ill for all ages served by the Cancer Center along with the ability to function independently within parameters of nurse practitioner/ physician protocols in provision of caring for all patients served by the Cancer Center.


Hematology and Oncology Physician

Multiple openings. Medical degree or foreign equivalent in Medicine or related field. Completion of a 3-year Internal Medicine Residency or Internal Medicine - Primary Care Residency and 3-year Fellowship in Hematology and Oncology (combined total of 72 months of training). Eligible for a State of Iowa medical license. Job based in Sioux City, IA with travel up to 15% to satellite clinics located in Northwest IA required. On-call as needed.
