Providing comprehensive treatment options and patient services
The June E. Nylen Cancer Center provides comprehensive outpatient care to cancer and hematology patients from the tri-state area.
The three primary methods to treat cancer are surgery, radiation therapy, and chemotherapy. At the cancer center, we provide state-of-the-art radiation and 3D treatment planning, as well as the newest types of chemotherapy available through clinical trials. Depending on the patient’s diagnosis, their care plan may include a combination of surgery, radiation, and chemotherapy during the course of their treatment.
In addition to chemotherapy and radiation therapy, we offer convenient hematology care and additional patient services right here in the same facility. Patients also have access to a full array of support services including nutrition, educational resources, a free wig boutique, support groups, and more.
Radiation Therapy
Radiation therapy uses high energy x-rays to destroy cancer cells and shrink tumors. About half of all cancer patients receive radiation therapy as part of their cancer treatment.
Medical Oncology
Commonly known as “chemo”. Chemotherapy drugs can destroy cancer cells that have metastasized or spread to parts of the body from the primary (original) tumor.
Diagnostics (PET/CT Scan)
CT scans and PET/CT scans are important tools in the diagnosis of cancer. State-of-the-art diagnostics allow your doctor to more accurately detect and stage cancer – providing you with important answers about your cancer diagnosis.
Hematology
Hematology is the treatment of blood disorders, blood diseases, and conditions with the blood. Your blood affects all other organs as it flows through the body and therefore abnormalities in your blood can cause concern.
Laboratory Services
Patients will have blood drawn and lab tests before or while visiting their physician. We have convenient lab services located within the Nylen Cancer Center.
