Nylen Cancer Center, 230 Nebraska Street, Sioux City, IA 51101For More Information, Contact: Tracy Shook, Director of Marketing, 712-252-9426Persons are invited to attend a free seminar on breast reconstruction at the cancer center Tuesday, April 19 at 5:30 p.m. This program will be presented by Dr. Kelly Gallego, a board certified plastic surgeon.The learning objectives of the seminar are to provide 1) Review recent statistics related to breast cancer, breast cancer treatment and breast reconstruction surgery, 2) Define the most commonly used methods of breast reconstruction: tissue expander/implant and flap reconstruction, 3) Discuss the attributes of the ideal candidate for breast reconstruction, 4) Review photos of past patients who have undergone breast reconstruction, 5) Provide information in regards to complications related to breast reconstruction surgery. A question and answer session with Dr. Gallego will follow the presentation.Dr. Kelly Gallego is a board certified plastic surgeon who practices full time in Sioux City, IA. He has spent the last seven years building a reputation for being a caring, honest, and skilled plastic surgeon. His most common procedures include reconstructive and cosmetic surgery of the breast, body contouring operations, skin cancer surgery, and the treatment of facial injuries.Dr. Gallego attended the UCLA School of Medicine in Los Angeles, and completed his plastic surgery training in Denver at University of Colorado Health Sciences Center. Throughout his career Dr. Gallego has received numerous awards and honors for his scholarship and dedication. He has co-authored a number of articles in highly respected publications and has been a speaker at several conferences. Dr. Gallego is a Diplomate of the American Board of Plastic Surgery. In addition, he is a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons and the American Society of Bariatric Plastic Surgeons.Refreshments will be provided.
