Lollipops for a Cause!

Seventh grader Tayvin Schmoll, friend and fundraising ambassador for the June E. Nylen Cancer Center, has a new project. He will be selling lollipops to benefit the Cancer Center. Tayvin received 1,280 lollipops from the Dimi company after he contacted them asking for a donation. Schmoll plans to sell the pops for $1 each at the Fareway stores the first three Saturdays in September. The lollipop flavors are pina colada, bubblegum and pink lemonade.“I hope to get some rivalry going amongst the three different Fareway store neighborhoods,” said Schmoll. This Saturday, September 1 he will be at the Northside Fareway store, on the 8th he will be at the Riverside Fareway and on the 15th he will be at the Eastside Fareway. He plans to sell the pops between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. on all three Saturdays.“Of course, if I sell them all, I may not follow the schedule – I hope that’s the case,” he said.Tayvin has taken on various projects over the last two years to help the Cancer Center, raising nearly $2,500 to date. His interest in the Cancer Center began when his teacher, Beth Anderson, was diagnosed with breast cancer when he was a fifth grader at Riverside Elementary.
