Survey helps Cancer Center evaluate service, perceptions
A recent community survey by the June E. Nylen Cancer Center helped solidify our belief that 15 years after we were formed, we are still providing you with the best, most comprehensive cancer care in the region. The survey helps cancer center personnel assess its mission and the needs and perceptions of the community. The community survey was employed to specifically evaluate how community members perceive cancer treatment centers in Sioux City and the surrounding areas.Said Karen Van de Steeg, Nylen Cancer Center director: “This survey solidifies our belief that every day we are providing the best cancer treatment in Siouxland. More importantly, it shows that we are not alone in our thinking and that the community, too, knows that if they or someone they love should be diagnosed with cancer, we are the leading source for care in the region.”What the survey found:• June E. Nylen Cancer Center is perceived to be the best Radiation Therapy provider in both the primary and secondary service area, an area that is 70 miles outside Sioux City.• June E. Nylen Cancer Center is perceived to be the best Chemotherapy provider in both the primary and secondary service area.• Among the surveyed attributes, having the latest technology is most valued by consumers when selecting a center for treatment.• Comprehensive symptom management, a team approach to care and providing financial guidance were also highly-valued attributes. While our patients already know much of this to be true, we know it is important that the community at large understand that these tenets are part of our core mission in serving you each day.
