‘Sweet 16’ Pink Ribbon Golf Classic Supports Cancer Center PatientsSiouxland golfers will have the opportunity to support area cancer patients while enjoying a round of golf at the 16th Annual Pink Ribbon Golf Classic Friday, Sept. 5 at Two Rivers Golf Course, North Sioux City, SD.Proceeds from the annual event will go to the June E. Nylen Cancer Center’s Patient Assistance Fund, which provides financial assistance to persons from throughout the tri-state region undergoing cancer treatment at the Cancer Center, helping to ease the financial stress that often results from long-term care.“The Cancer Center’s Patient Assistance Fund is a very worthwhile project, and a way for us to keep the money raised from this event local,” says Cindy Fleckenstein, one of the volunteer organizers of the Pink Ribbon Golf Classic, which has raised $360,000 in its 15-year history in the community.Spots are limited for the “Sweet 16”-themed tourney, which will include 18 holes of golf with a four-person scramble format followed by dinner at the clubhouse, a live auction, raffle and door prizes. The shotgun start is set for 11 a.m. with dinner planned for approximately 4:30 p.m.Registration of $90 per person or $360 per four-person team includes 18 holes, mulligans, pick-a-putts, cart and dinner.
