Unrestricted Donations Making Impact Within JENCC

A new process was implemented at the conclusion of JENCC’s fiscal year to help determine some ways to put unrestricted donations to great work within the organization. While some of the unrestricted funds were set aside for strategic priorities and patient programs and support services, all employees had an opportunity to submit a Request for Funding. A committee made up of representatives from each department reviewed and scored all of the requests. The Committee then met and finalized the allocation of funds.

Here are the items approved:

  • Protein and Prebiotic Nutrition Products as well as Pancreatic Enzymes to be able to provide samples to patients - these products can be expensive and are only available online which sometimes detours patients from purchasing themselves. Our registered oncology dietitian can now provide samples to show patients how effectively they work.

  • 1 Year Fees for Tailor Med Program - this is a new software program that will interface with our medical record systems and help identify co-pay, grant, and other financial assistance for our patients, reducing the stress of financial toxicity in our patients and helping patients pay their bill with us.

  • 3 Recliners for Chemotherapy Rooms – this will replace the last of the outdated recliners that were about 12 years old. We have enough patients in the infusion room at one time that some patients did not have the newer, more comfortable chairs during their treatment. The newer chemo chairs are heated and recline so patients can rest.

Thank you to our donors who invest in our organization, our mission, and in the patients we serve.

An additional thank you to this year’s Review Committee for their time and effort in helping us be diligent and putting donations to great work in our organization.
