Beaming on Teamwork and Planning

At the June E. Nylen Cancer Center, your radiation oncologist (the doctor who specializes in treating cancer with radiation) has an entire team behind him right from the start. The rest of the radiation therapy team includes the dosimetrist, who determines the proper radiation dose; the radiation physicist, who makes sure that the machine delivers the right amount of radiation to the correct site in the body; and the radiation therapist, who gives the actual radiation therapy.
