Comedy Night Rocks Out for Cancer

Several comedians performed Sunday, March 18 at Chesterfield’s Live Music Club to raise money for the June E. Nylen Cancer Center at the Cancer Sucks! Comedy Rocks! event.Coordinated by Logan Street Production’s John Olson, professional and amateur comedians took the stage to entertain patrons and to support the Cancer Center. Nearly $1,200 was raised from free-will donations and a silent auction.“I wanted to honor my dad Kenneth Olson and others currently battling cancer and feel the patient assistance fund is a wonderful way to give back and offer support to local cancer patients,” said Olson, event organizerThe proceeds from the first ever Cancer Sucks! Comedy Rocks! event will be directed to the patient assistance fund which helps pay for living expenses such as rent/mortgage, utilities, food, clothing and other items patients need when faced with a cancer diagnosis.“The Cancer Center appreciates Logan Street Productions and Chesterfield’s taking an interest in our services and giving back to help our patients,” said Pat Hubbard, director of fund development.
