New LIVESTRONG at the YMCA Program To Start In January 2022

The Y and the LIVESTRONG Foundation have joined together to create LIVESTRONG at the YMCA, a 12 week evidence-based physical activity and well-being program designed to help adult cancer survivors reclaim their total health. The Norm Waitt Sr. YMCA in South Sioux City, NE will be starting a new LIVESTRONG program in January 2022 - cancer survivors are encouraged to sign up now.

About Our Lymphoma eConsult Program with Nebraska Medicine

Our leadership team has been working closely with Nebraska Medicine to start a few new collaborative efforts that bring more specialized options to our patients here at our Cancer Center. One example of this is the new eConsult Program.

At this time we are piloting the eConsult Program with just leukemia and lymphoma patients. We have always encouraged second opinions if patients wanted one and the eConsult Program is a convenient option for our most complex leukemia and lymphoma cases that saves them the time and cost of going to a second facility.

Unrestricted Donations Making Impact Within JENCC

A new process was implemented at the conclusion of JENCC’s fiscal year to help determine some ways to put unrestricted donations to great work within the organization. While some of the unrestricted funds were set aside for strategic priorities and patient programs and support services, all employees had an opportunity to submit a Request for Funding. A committee made up of representatives from each department reviewed and scored all of the requests. The Committee then met and finalized the allocation of funds.
