Meet Liv Skaare, Nurse Practitioner

Liv Skaare, ARNP, FNP-C was drawn to oncology care because of the patients and the appreciation they show for this specialized care. She also says, “Cancer is a field that is always advancing and changing, and that makes the work exciting and fulfilling.”

Liv, who grew up in Blue Earth, MN, says her goal with each patient is to provide compassionate, patient-centered care in an individualized and holistic manner. She considers herself to be caring, resourceful, and dependable.

Traveling and immersing herself in new experiences is something that Liv enjoys. It’s evident because she has practiced nursing in Minnesota, Alaska, Hawaii, Colorado, and now Iowa. After being a nurse for seven years, Liv wanted to become a nurse practitioner to expand her knowledge and become a better advocate for her patients. She has a goal to become certified as an Advanced Oncology Certified Nurse Practitioner (AOCNP).

Liv and her husband, Sutton, have two dogs, Surly and Honey, and a cat, Leo. In addition to traveling, Liv also enjoys being outdoors, riding motorcycles, reading, and trying new foods. She is also known to seek out any type of live music.
